on holistic wellness. what it means to me. how i practice.

I am a holistic wellness coach focused on ancestral eating patterns and lifestyle changes, and somatic healing of trauma. I work with people to help correct the damage this modern world has done to their bodies, hearts, brains, and souls. I believe that nearly everyone can heal, even from the things allopathic medicine claims are ‘incurable, chronic, and pathological.’

My mission is to bring people back to the knowledge of simple nourishment for their entire being. I teach what our bodies are made up of, and help you to sustainably shift your diet to be continuously more in line with the building blocks of life. In addition, I work as a guide helping you to navigate tricky emotional territory to create better health and more balance in every area of your life. Because I believe that illness is caused by the physical—food, water, environment— as well as, and equally, the mental, spiritual, energetic, and unseen— beliefs, light, unhealed or unaddressed trauma stored in the body, unsafe relationships, lack of self care, bad “vibes”, and our relationship or lack thereof to something greater than ourselves.

I practice what I preach, but I do not always use everything that I may recommend to you. This is because I often work with people who are in need of deep healing, usually requiring a total reset and detox phase, which I have already been through many times over. I’m also highly sensitive to many foods, though no longer due to indigestion, but rather due to my own sensory issues; I’m sensitive to flavor, texture, and temperature.

how i got into holistic health

I travel a lot, and move frequently, and am just generally pretty busy or distracted with things, so I feel the need for my food to be quick to prepare, easy to eat and relatively thoughtless. This was my biggest inspiration in becoming a nutritionist, because I wanted to be sure that every calorie I ate was dense with life building nourishment, and I wanted to figure out how to make it easy to do so.

So I did the easiest thing I could think of—I spent close to ten years doing thousands of hours of research and reading hundreds of books about everything from poetry to neuroscience to nutrition to psychology and philosophy. I started a website, and an instagram, and eventually a business. And now, I’ve started writing a book. I needed a way to organize my food philosophy, and my life philosophy. I feel a strong pull to be able to write out an explanation of how to reclaim our health in the modern world, by learning from our ancestors and listening to our bodies.

what it might look like to work with me

If you choose to work with me, you won’t find many rules around food. You won’t receive more reasons to fear what’s on your plate, you won’t be tied to heavy supplementation to fill in the gaps of your diet, and most of all you won’t be forced into a box of “the perfect diet.” I’m not interested in creating more fear and confusion around foods.

I like to think of working with me as a “choose your own adventure” book, in the sense that I am not here to boss you around. I’m here to educate you, offer you tools, tricks, tips, and ancestral wisdom that goes as deep as you are willing to follow it. I’m not here to force you to betray your beliefs, or to tie you to yet another set of diet rules, and most of all— I can’t change you.

you are sovereign. your health is your responsibility

You are responsible for 100% of the changing you will do when you work with me. You pick everything from the pace, to the follow-through, to the commitment. I can’t make you healthy. I can’t force you to make better choices, I can’t even tell you what the best choice for you is. That’s your job. You have to be willing to make your own decisions, to make your own moves.

I am here to educate you, to support you, to guide you with helpful, trusted resources in the direction your body is already pulling you. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all diet, nor a one-size-fits-all approach to life. It doesn’t exist. Instead, I’ve done years of research so that you don’t have to, and that knowledge base is how I help my clients find their optimal health.

honoring yourself. honoring your needs. honoring your body.

There’s no One Way to achieve optimal health, but there is a human diet, a humane diet. That is what I will teach you. It doesn’t involve foods that are “good or bad.” Food is not a moral issue, despite what the vegans would have you believe. Food is healing, or harmful depending on the person consuming it, depending on the way it was processed, depending on how close it is to it’s whole, natural state.

I’m not interested in demonizing your diet. I’m interested in healing your relationship to food. If you are eating poorly, I’m not here to shame you for that, or to scare you out of it. I’m here to show you a better way. If there are foods that you love, and want to be a part of your life forever, then I’m sure we can find a way to make them healthier for you.

If you have allergies, or food sensitivities, I’m not going to tell you to cut those things out! I’m going to show you how to heal your relationship to these foods on a cellular level through learning the unique language of your body and it’s needs. I see no reason why every human shouldn’t be able to eat, enjoy and incorporate every natural, organic food into their natural diet.

The more nourished our bodies are, the more we are able to thrive. I promise you, your body wants you to be healthy and it’s always working towards that goal. But! It’s YOUR job to give it the tools it needs to rebuild. Your body can and will heal from chronic illness when it’s given the proper support. A lot of this support will come from your diet, even more of it from your lifestyle, but the best way to support your body is through your mindset, through your mental health, through healing your relationship to yourself. That is what we work on together, because healing is always easier with a support system.
